Salt

The salt of Christians is supposed to make people thirsty for God.- Dag Heward-Mills, How You Can Be in the Perfect Will of God


“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.” - Matt 5:13(AMP)

If your life isn’t making people thirst after God you are not achieving the purpose for which you have been saved and are essentially of no use to God! 

“For it is by grace you have been saved…CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
-Ephesians 2:8,10(NIV)

“…and He died for all, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE SHOULD NO LONGER LIVE FOR THEMSELVES, BUT FOR HIM WHO DIED FOR THEM AND ROSE AGAIN…Therefore, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, AND HAS GIVEN US THE MINISTRY OF RECONCILIATION,that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

The ministry of reconciliation is just what it says it is. i.e. to put men back in right standing with God. How? Through Jesus Christ.

“Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood,…For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son”
-Romans 5:10(AMP)

“THEREFORE BE imitators of God [copy Him and follow His example], as well-beloved children [imitate their father]…For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or the Spirit [consists] in every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life.And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him].Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] expose and reprove and convict them…Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),Making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil.

I end this by saying, “So then, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you may do, do all for the honor and glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

I apologize if all of this isn’t very coherent. I literally made this post as it was revealed to me(not to sound spooky or anything but I typed this as the connections came to me:) )
Sorry if it’s a bit much…I did my best to condense it as well as I could. God Bless you if you’ve made it this far in reading this. Pay close attention to the words, (if you didn’t the first time I kindly suggest that you re-read it) and let God minister to you. I purposely did not comment much on the verses I posted because I think they speak well for themselves. Alas, I cannot speak God’s Word better than He does.
